Japanese Weather Reports Are More Adorable with Anime Characters

Published on January 01, 0001

In most countries, the weather report is not cute. The weatherman or the weatherwoman might be attractive (they might not!), but the report itself is probably fairly bland. Not in Japan. NHK, Japan’s most respected broadcaster, has used anime-inspired characters for weather reports for u31 เครดิตฟรี 188 the past few years. In February 2009, NHK’s News Watch 9 began using Haru-chan (春ちゃん) or Spring-chan in its weather reports. u31 เครดิตฟรี 188 Other characters followed, such as Rainy Season-chan (梅雨くん), Summer Shougun (夏将軍), Fall-chan (秋ちゃん), and Winter Shougun (冬将軍). The characters are u31 เข้าสู่ระบบ used for reporting the weather and giving seasonal advice. It’s unabashed geek pandering.cnx.cmd.push(function(){cnx({"playerId":"e3616d04-4972-4839-a63a-c6975e2e9731","settings":{"advertising":{"macros":{"AD_UNIT":"/23178111854/od.kotaku.com/article","CHILD_UNIT":"article","POST_ID":"1474765686","POST_TYPE":"post","CHANNEL":"kotaku-east","SECTION":"","SUBSECTION":"","CATEGORIES":"kotaku-east","TAGS":"","NOP":"0"},"timeBeforeFirstAd":0}}}).render("cnx-player-main")}); This particular news program’s weather report is unusual, even for Japan. Most weather reports also have fairly bland graphics, like you typically see. But these cute characters have their fans—even their fan art, officially licensed figurines, and plush toys. Character goods are incredibly popular in Japan w69 and have been for a very long time. In that u31 เข้าสู่ระบบ way, creating characters that can be merchandised makes sense. Late last week, however, News Watch 9 announced that its new winter character was Fuyu-chan (冬ちゃん) or Winter-chan. She takes her place along with Natsu-chan (夏ちゃん), the new summer character that debuted this past July. Guess someone at NHK thinks it’ll be easier to sell Winter-chan goods than Winter Shougun ones. Guess that person is right. w69 NHKの冬ちゃんが完全にお前ら好み [2ch] Photos: 痛いテレビ, Livedoor, 痛いテレビ, bari, Zarutoro, 痛いテレビ, 痛いテレビ, Naver To contact the author of this post, write to bashcraftATkotaku.com or find him on Twitter @Brian_Ashcraft Kotaku East is your slice of Asian internet culture, bringing you the latest talking points from Japan, Korea, China and beyond. The payout process is generally smooth and reliable, though occasionally it takes longer than expected. Overall, I feel confident that my winnings are safe and will be credited properly. The progressive jackpots are thrilling, and it's exciting to watch the jackpot amounts grow as more players spin the reels. I hope they add even more jackpot slots because it adds a lot of excitement to the gameplay. Sometimes I wish there were more ways to earn rewards through loyalty programs or frequent player bonuses. Adding seasonal events or special challenges could enhance the excitement even further.
